Yesterday was VE Day, the day when the second world war officially ended in Europe, 75 years ago. There was meant to be celebrations all over the country but with the current situation, these were cancelled. I still wanted to do something special to mark the occasion, so I put on my handmade vintage inspired dress from Buttontin Retro and styled my hair and make up in a way that would have fitted the 1940s. I then sat in the garden with a cocktail and listened to the 1940s extravaganza live concert.
So here is my outfit. I love this dress because the style is so classic and it also has two of my favourite things on the print – vintage aircraft and poppies. I’ve paired it with my red high heels from Marks and Spencer and am wearing a petticoat from a local dressmaker to puff out the dress. What do you think?
For today’s outfit I’ve decided to wear the white knitted jumper from yesterday and paired it with this blush pink corduroy pinafore dress, both were purchased from Primark. I’ve added a fleecey pair of tights from George which I mentioned in my post yesterday (these are a clean pair 😆) and chose these ankle boots from Peacocks which I feel compliment the outfit. You may notice that I’ve added this Floral headband which I bought from Trago Mills at Newton Abbot which I highly recommend for anyone that visits Devon. Not only is it have a good selection of merchandise but is also a good day out with entertainment for kids and even animals for them where kids can get close up and pet them if you so wish to.
For today’s outfit, I’ve picked this white knitted jumper and paired it with the denim pinafore dress with ripped detail, both of which are from Primark. The knee high boots are really comfortable and warm and were purchased from Sainsburys, as were the pink leather jacket. A quick mention to the tights which are from George and are fleecy lined and I never have a problem with them falling down so I’d highly recommend them.
For today’s outfit, I’ve chosen another pair of dungarees, which are my ultimate favourite pair I have although I do have a second favourite pair which I may show you at another time. This particular pair that I’m wearing is from Boohoo and I love how slim fitting they are. The jumper with shirt collar is warm and cosy and I feel works well pairing it with these dungarees and was purchased from Primark.
