My Birthday Make Up (Ad)

* Ad – Paid Partnership – whilst some products in this post have been sent to me to review, all opinions stated are my own.

Having had my birthday during lockdown was definitely a different experience. Normally I would go out for the day with family, however this wasn’t an option with the current restrictions. Instead I decided to take my time & try out a different make up look.

I was recently contacted by a company called False Eyelashes who asked if I would like to try some out. I was asked to look through their website & choose some that I thought would suit me. I was surprised with how many different styles of lashes there were on their website, ranging from natural, wispy, dramatic to name a few. Being a novice to false eyelashes, I decided to pick a natural look and was surprised when I received the package containing 4 sets of lashes, an application tool & a separate lash adhesive to try.

The first product I applied was the “L’OREAL Lumi Magique Base Primer”, which blends easily with other make up products I use & gives your skin a radiant finish. To add to my base layer, I used my favourite foundation, “Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation” in the colour “100 Ivory” all over my face and also apply the concealer from the same collection under my eyes to brighten the area.I wanted to continue prepping the eye area & so I applied the “Absolute Eyeshadow Primer” to my eyelids & I also apply the “Fleur De Force Eyelure Brow Duo Fix & Colour”. I allow this to dry fully (5 minutes) before adding the clear top coat.

I then want to contour & highlight my face to give it some definition. For contour I used “Model Co Contour Stick”, drawing a line at my temples, the sides of my nose, in the hollows of my cheeks & along my jawline. I then use the “BarryM Iluminating Strobe Cream” under the arches of my eyebrows, down the centre of my nose & on my cupids bow (top lip). Using a beauty blender, I gently blend both products in before adding a pop of colour with the “Clinique Blusher” in the colour “107 sunset glow.” I use the “Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder” in the shade “001 Transparent” to set it all in place before moving onto the eyes.

I chose the “Doll Lash Grace” eyelashes to try for this glamorous make up look and they come in a pink display case so that I can store them & reuse them at a later date. Using the”Revlon Precision Dark Lash Adhesive” over the band of the false eyelashes, I wait 30 seconds as instructed (on lashes) & use the “False Eyelashes” applicator to fit them into place. Lastly, I applied the “Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo” in the shade “65 pink gold” to my eyelids, with the “Lancome Hypnose Noir” mascara on my bottom lashes. Have look at the finished picture and I’d be interested to receive feedback of how it looks.

Overall, I found the whole process of applying the false eyelashes a lot easier than I thought it would be & I really like the final result. I’m looking forward to trying out the other false eyelash sets they kindly sent, which I will update my blog with some different make up looks soon. False Eyelashes have also given me a code, so have a look on their website & if there is something you like the look of, use “Lash10” at the checkout to receive 10% off your order.

  2. Firstly, Happy Birthday! You look beautiful and those lashes look so natural. I have never worn false eyelashes before and I feel like they would be really difficult to apply, but you make it look easy!

  4. Happy birthday, girl! You look beautiful! I love the look of the lashes! For me, it is very important to make an accent in my eyes! With them, you can make someone fall in love or kill without saying words. 😉
