What better way to start celebrating my birthday month than with a birthday wishlist post. I want to quickly put this out there but you will be seeing a lot of birthday content in the next fews weeks. I hope you don’t mind but with a lot of restrictions still in place, celebrating my birthday feels like one of the few positives at the moment.
I’m certainly not expecting to get all (or any) of the things I include in this post but I just thought it would be fun to share a few things I’m lusting after at the moment.
There are actually a few books I really want to read at the moment so of course I had to add them to my birthday wishlist. If you’ve been a reader for a while, you will know that I love historical fiction. I recently discovered a few book series that I just know I will love. The first set is written by Maggie Sullivan and is based on Coronation Street during the second world war. I must admit I haven’t watched Coronation Street for years but there is something about the original characters that I love. I really want to see how the street was affected during the war and think they would be a lovely set of books to read.
Similar to the series I mentioned above, I also discovered that Pamela Bell has written a series about Emmerdale set during the first world war. I think this would be another heart-warming series to read. I’m even more pleased that this series continues into the second world war under the authors name Kerry Bell. I love reading series that follow the same set of characters over several years and events so this will be perfect for me. I’ve asked my mum to buy me these and split them between my birthday and Christmas so fingers crossed, I will be featuring them on my blog later in the year. I’d love for somebody to write an Eastenders version because it would be great to read about the square during the blitz.
I’ve got to the age where I love homewear gifts. Whether its candles, or more decorative items, I just love them. I have seasonal boxes which I swap out throughout the year and so love adding to these. I’ve currently got lots of pastel colours, little bunnies and other pretty spring decorations. One of my favourite places to buy homewear is a local company called Pretty Lovely Interiors. They do beautiful pieces that won’t break the bank. I love everything on the website, so would be happy to receive anything from them.
Over the last few years, I realised that I prefer the more minimalistic lifestyle. I no longer crave to have items as gifts and instead, much prefer experiences. I’ve already done a tram driving experience which was so much fun. I’ve also got an indoor sky dive to book when covid restrictions are lifted. Looking forward, I would love to do a helicopter ride and maybe a spa day. Even things such as a picnic with friends or an entry fee payment to an attraction would be great.
Ok, so I know this is an odd one to put here but hear me out. I’ve recently started trying to grow my mailing list. There’s a widget to the right if you would like to sign up. It would mean the world to me to get to 100 subscribers by the end of the month.
I’ve tried to keep this post short and sweet. As well as sharing what is on my birthday wishlist, I hope this post gives you some gift inspiration. What is top of your wishlist at the moment?
