Autumn Life Reset

For me, the end of September means it’s time for my annual Autumn life reset. Whenever its a new season, I like to have a little refresh. None are more important than Autumn because this is where life tends to get busy really quickly. Life in general at this time of year is busy with birthdays and planning for Christmas and other events. At the same time, being a blogger comes with a whole new work load at this time of year. So before I get my head stuck into plans for the next few months, here is five things I like to do as part of my Autumn life reset…

Revisit my goals

One of the first things I like to do as part of my Autumn life reset is to revisit my goals. I can see which ones I have achieved and which I still need to work on. I can then add this into my plans for the next few months, to see if it is something I can achieve.

Make plans

At the start of the season, I like to sit down and make a list of all the things I would like to do. These could be things such as pick my own pumpkin or go to a firework display. There are quite a few things that I like to do at this time of year, so I add these to my calendar so I don’t miss out. I can then work around these days when meeting up with friends and family.

Swap to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe

As soon as it starts to get colder, I have to swap to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Its a must here in the UK. I like to vac bag up all the things that I know I won’t wear. I do try to keep a few transitional pieces out though, either for those slightly warmer days or just to layer up with.

Change up my skincare routine

When the seasons change, especially moving into the colder months, I have to change my skincare routine up so that it stays effective. Whilst you should wear an SPF every day of the year, I do add more products that lock in that moisture. This really helps to prevent my skin from drying out with the drastic change from hot to cold. You can often not notice how having the heating on in your home, even if only for a short period, can really affect your skin.

Stock up on pamper products

By pamper products, I don’t mean I’m buying luxury items as such. This can be things such as a new face mask pot or a divine smelling bubble bath. During Autumn, I spend an awful lot more time at home and so want to pamper myself a bit more in the evenings. One thing I always make sure to stock up on is lip balms, being dry and cracked lips are so painful.

That brings me to the end of my Autumn Life Reset post. I hope you enjoyed reading it. I’d love to know what things you like to do at the start of a new season.

  1. I honestly cannot believe I’ve never thought to switch up my skin care routine by season. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Like, that seems so obvious after reading that! Wowwww, this just blew my mind. I mean, I don’t wear SPF in the Fall or Winter months but I should probably get a thicker cream for the drier months. That absolutely makes sense.

Also, I love that you stock up on pampering products and revisit your goals. I need to be better about that too. 💕

  2. It’s my favourite season and I’m usually always looking forward to lighting my scented candles which I stock up on in the summer when most stores have them on clearance. The bright orange sunsets where I live on those first chilly evenings and the explosion of colour everywhere. It’s my favourite time to be out in nature.

  4. Really digging the seasonal life reset – something we can all get onboard! Thank you for the reminder on changing up my skincare routine… I genuinely forgot about that and the weather changed suddenly where I live. I love the cozy days/nights in during autumn and can’t wait to stock up on pamper items and scented candles as well.

  6. I love the fall for a reset as well! I feel like doing seasonal life resets could be very beneficial for me, as it allows me to get rid of all of the previous seasons’ baggage. Nice post!

  7. I have regularly weekly and monthly resets and they definitely help me get into a refreshed mindset and allowed me to check with myself, my goals and intentions. Seasonal resets are also great. It sounds like you have checked in with a lot of elements. I definitely will be using more pampering products also. I have brought some new face masks and look forward to getting cosy and pampered. Thank you for sharing your post. Have a great Autumn.

  8. Autumn is a great time to revisit and do a last push to reach our annual goals. This is a good reminder that I want to sit down and do that in terms of my blogs and my freelancing career before we kick off October tomorrow 🙂
