Despite the current situation, the summer months seem to have flown by so I thought I’d take a look back at some of my summer memories so far.
Beautiful sunsets

One of my favourite things about summer is how beautiful the sunsets can be. Whether that is closer to home or somewhere around the world, each are different and unique.
Greenhouse Delights

At the very beginning of summer, I tidied up the old greenhouse at the bottom of the garden and decided to start planting things. I certainly didn’t expect it to go as well as it has and I now love my little greenhouse.
The Garden Bloomed

Following on from the greenhouse, I was able to grow some beautiful flowers and my garden has now become a place of vibrant colours. As a result, I’ve also gained a lot of wildlife too.
Mums Birthday

Lockdown restrictions eased just in time for us to be able to celebrate mums birthday with a socially distant BBQ. It was so great to be able to catch up and have a laugh, all whilst enjoying the delicious food.
Aviation Fix

I am a huge aviation fan and so to go so many months without being up close to aircraft was torture. Thankfully a trip to the local airfield to see this beauty visit, soon made me smile.
Great times away

Since lockdown eased, we have been fortunate to go on a couple of staycations. We have been able to see so many lovely things and a visit up north wouldn’t be complete without a trip to RAF Conningsby to see the Lancaster and Spitfires.
Trixie’s first museum

This year, I was planning on taking Trixie to lots of dog friendly places and exploring different areas. Whilst we couldn’t do much of this, we did manage to take Trixie to her first museum, the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre. She seemed to really enjoy her day, despite it raining for most of it.
Summer has been a mixed bag when it comes to the weather, but it hasn’t stopped us making the most of not being at work. What are your memories from the summer?

I completely agree. Whilst this year hasn’t been the best, I’m sure we’ve all achieved things we are proud of.

Your summer seems so lovely! I’m sorry to say I didn’t do much with mine, lockdown keeping me too afraid to do much outside. My most positives memories of this summer were moving to our new house, a socially distanced fourth of July party (with all of 6 people including my husband and me), and celebrating my sister’s birthday. Thank you for encouraging us to focus on the positive during this rough time!

You’ve still managed to do some lovely things. Moving into a new home can be so stressful in itself so you should be proud that you got through it. Plus lockdown gave you more time to unpack.

Sunsets and swimming are a highlight of my summer, since we have a pond. There is nothing quite like sitting outdoors at night watching the fireflies and enjoying the cool. I also loved doing more then I have ever done in the garden; planting vegetables and flowers and herbs. There is great joy in picking a fresh tomato. 🙂
