5 Ways to add accessories to your outfit

AD – Some accessories in this post have been gifted to me in exchange for my views, however this in no way affects an opinions mentioned.

Adding accessories to your outfit can not only complete change how it looks, but it can also make it look more expensive. I thought I’d share with you my top tips for adding accessories into your outfit.

Flat lay photo containing 3 necklaces mentioned within the post, a bottle of Dolce rose perfume, pink book and floral sign. All laid on a cream handbag

Jewellery

Adding jewellery to an outfit is one of the easiest ways of adding accessories. The first thing you should do is decide if you want to go for the dainty look or make more of a statement, such as with a chunky necklace. Bels Bling has such a huge selection of affordable jewellery pieces, I feel confident that you will find something to suit your style. I was very kindly gifted these really pretty necklaces and I know I will get a lot of wear out of them. The first is this gorgeous flower statement necklace, which has these pink jewels in the centre. They really catch the light and would look great with so many different outfit options. The second one actually arrived as a set contain a pair of pretty stud earrings and this lovely rose gold padlock necklace. The last item I wanted to mention one which I have featured on this blog post is this gold and white marble necklace set, which again comes with matching earrings. All three designs are really pretty, great quality and all come in at under £8!

Belts

Belts are another great way of adding accessories to your outfit. You can wear them in the standard way on a pair of trousers or you could add them at your waist to really sinch in your outfit and give you a better silhouette.

Hair Accessories

This is the accessory that so many people forget about. How many times have you been guilty of grabbing the closest hair bobble to put your hair up? If you use scrunchies, hair bands and clips in colours that compliment your outfit, you can look so much more put together.

Hats

Selecting the right hat that suits you will not only product you from the sun (or rain), it will also add a completely different vibe to your outfit. It took me years to find a hat that suited me, but now that I’ve found one, I love wearing it. Have patience and try on lots of different styles until you find the perfect one for you.

Bags

I admit it, I am a huge bag lover, specifically handbags. I have so many different options to go with various outfits and I’m constantly on the lookout for more. You don’t need to have lots though, just a few simple, classy bags will really complement your outfit. Try to pick neutral colours that you will get a lot of wear out of and make sure that you can fit everything you need to carry inside it.

So there is my top tips for adding accessories to any outfit. I hope you found this post useful. Make sure you head over out check out the Bels Bling website and see what bargains you can pick up.

  1. I’ve been really getting into jewellery at the minute. I was never a big jewellery person, but now I’m finding myself drawn to pretty necklaces and bracelets all the time. Handbags are definitely one of my favourite accessories too. They are always something I’m willing to splurge on, as they do make a big difference to your outfit. My faves are my Michael Kors bags, they look amazing and the quality is fantastic. I’m always keeping my eye out for good handbags as I don’t believe you can ever have enough!!

  11. I go through phases where I don’t wear accessories for months and then I’ll get back into wearing a lot. They really do make a huge difference when adding them to simple outfits. I really like the jewelry in your post. So feminine and pretty.

  12. I would love to find a couple of hats that suit me but I haven’t come across them yet. I can also use your advice of spicing up my outfits with belts. I’ve always liked the cinched-waist look but it never seemed to quite work as expected when I tried.
