Favourite Christmas Songs

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love Christmas songs. We have probably all been guilty of belting out the cheesiest Christmas song at some point. I bet you were smiling just thinking about it. I therefore thought I’d share with you a list of some of the songs that are in my current Christmas playlist for todays Blogmas post. Many of them are ones I listened to as a child and still enjoy today. I personally love songs that I can sing along to without much effort. For me, listening to the old Christmas songs is like a tradition, similar to watching the Coca Cola advert on tv.

  1. I love seeing other people’s favourite festive tunes and there are some amazing choices on yours! 🙂 Driving Home for Christmas has been my favourite now for as long as I can remember but over the last few years Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Silver Bells have snuck up there too to create a top 3. It wouldn’t be Christmas without those. 🙂

  2. I hate to say it, but Christmas wouldn’t feel like Christmas without a bit of Mariah! Thank you for sharing your suggestions, I love these choices and there are some real classics in there. I think another of my (modern) favourites is also Santa Tell Me 🙂

  4. Great list!

I always think that Christmas has really started whenever I hear Mariah Carey for the first time – an iconic tune. Christmas Tree Farm by Taylor Swift is one of our more recent faves 🙂 thanks for sharing!

  5. I’ve always preferred the instrumental versions of holiday songs, because I think those sound nicer in the background of any gathering!

That said, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Carol of the Bells is my favorite!

  6. The Pogues is my absolute favourite song! I had to listen to Driving home from Christmas when I left work on friday, Typically I got stuck in 20 minutes worth of traffic! I was not impressed but it is a great song!

  7. I grew up with Boney M blasting around Christmas time, so I guess they’re on my list 🙂
