AD -Some items in this product empties post have been gifted to me but I’m not obliged to write about them in this post.
If you can’t already tell by the title, today I’m sharing with you the product empties I currently have. At the start of the year, I decided to limit the amount of products I was buying. Instead I wanted to focus on using up the things I already had in the cupboard. I have been a blogger on and off for over ten years. In that time, I have collected a lot of beauty, skincare, haircare and make up products. Working through them is definitely going to take time but lets get onto what I have used up in January & February.

Body Wash
Starting off with body wash, I have two to share with you. The first is the Dove shower mousse with rose oil. This states that it will give you 24 hour soften and I have to agree, because it does. It also smells amazing and can be used as a shower and shave product. I love anything that is multi purpose and would definitely repurchase this.
The second product is the Fancy Love by Jessica Simpson bath & shower creme. I received this in a set with the matching perfume for Christmas a couple of years ago. I’m a huge Jessica Simpson fan but sadly, a lot of the products she creates never make it over to the UK. I was so happy to receieve this and have been using it as more of a treat which is why it has lasted me so long. This smells incredible although I would say its not the type of product that will lather up. Because of this, I find that you end up using quite a lot of the product. Having said that, I would definitely purchase this in the future as a treat.
Toothpaste
Whilst this is an obvious product, I wanted to include it because I have so many toothpastes that I need to use up. This is the Colgate Fresh Gel toothpaste which aims to keep your teeth strong, have cavity protection and leave you with a fresh breath too. I probably wouldn’t buy this one again as it almost has a burning feeling which I’m not a fan of.

Hair Care
Onto haircare products and I have quite a few to share with you. I do get through a lot because my hair is so long. The first two I wanted to mention are from the brand Mythos. As far as I’m aware, this is only available in Greece, so I will have to wait until this pandemic is over before I can get anymore. I wanted to mention it though because they create the most amazing scented products from skincare and bodycare to haircare. I’ve been using the Strong & Long, Shin & Volume Shampoo with sandalwood & wheat protein. This leaves my hair feeling very clean and I definitely noticed a lot less breakage whilst using it. With this, I used the Olive & Soy with wheat protein conditioner. This doesn’t have much of a scent to it but it leaves your hair feeling like you have given it a mask treatment. My hair is so soft when I’m using it, I can’t wait to get some more.
Two products that are more readily available are the Aussie Mega shampoo & 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor deep treatment. These are products that every so often I go back to. I know they work well with my hair and they smell amazing. Because I haven’t been able to get my hair cut, I’m trying to take extra good care of my hair. I will definitely be buying some more of these and usually pick them up every six months.
The last hair care product I wanted to mention is the Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing conditioner. This is an absolute game changer for me and I’m hoping that I can pick up the full sized bottles very soon. This leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and in amazing condition.
Bubble Bath
I don’t know about you but I love a great smelling bubble bath. I’m always on the lookout for new ones to try and have two to show you today. The first is the Sweet Almond Bubble Bauble from Avon. This has a lovely scent to it that although is sweet, its not overpowering. They are part of their Christmas range but I always pick some of these up in the January sales. At 50p a bauble, which lasts me a good 8-10 baths, you can’t go wrong.
The second one I wanted to mention is the Imperial Leather Cosmic Unicorn bath soak. I’m usually a big fan of Imperail Leather bath soaks but this one just didn’t do it for me. There wasn’t really much scent and whilst there were a lot of bubbles, it just didn’t leave my skin feeling great. Its a limited edition one but even if this wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t repurchase it. It hasn’t put me off the brand in general though and I already have another scent that I can’t wait to try.

Body Care
I’m sure I can’t be the only one that has so many body lotions and yet I never seem to apply them. Well this has changed this year and I’m determined to get through them. The first one I wanted to mention is the SOil Organics lavender scented shea butter. I worked with SOil Organics on this review last year, so head over and give it a read to see what I thought.
Another body lotion I’ve used up is the Coleen Butterflies one. This came in a set with the perfume and whilst it has a pleasant scent, the lotion itself didn’t really do much for my skin. If I’m going to go to the effort of applying a body lotion, I like that soft and moisturised feeling to last at least a day and for me, this just didn’t do that.
Skincare
I only have one product to mention in this category and its a staple item. That is the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense day cream. This is a 72 hour hydrating cream that is suitable for very dry to dry combination skin types. I love how this leaves my skin feeling and it works well to soak deep into my face. Because it is super hydrating, you really only need a tiny amount which makes this product last so much longer. I’ve already repurchased this product and am already using the new one.
There we have it, my product empties for January & February. Obviously there is an awful lot of plastic with the products I’ve mentioned. Whilst I’m cutting down on this in my life, I feel it would be wasteful to just through everything away. Because of this, my plan is to work my way through the products that I already have and then I can look for alternative sustainable options when the time comes.
Isn’t it incredible how much we get through! I’m one of those hoarders who tries to hold onto everything for as long as possible, until it’s impossible to navigate how cluttered my bathroom becomes. I normally used pretty generic products, so these were some nice suggestions!
I love this post! I love Clinique items, and I get through their foundation at a worrying rate! I also love my daily moisturisers and SPFs, so they’re probably on my empties list this month x
That mythos conditioner looks like my kind of thing actually! I’d never heard of it though, so I’ll at it to my ‘to try’ list!
oooo I love dove so I will have to try that out! Amazing products!!
I’ve seen that bubble bath in Superdrug but didn’t pick it up and I really wish I did! Also, have they changed the scent of Aussie? I tried it again a while back and doesn’t smell near as good as I remember it did! Anyway, a lot of great products here!
This has definitely convinced me to try out Aussie’s haircare. I was put off a while back from a bad review I read but sounds like it’s worth trying! Great post.

O_O! The dove body wash and the Fancy Love one both sound so incredible and beautifully scented! I hope I can find both of them; your writing alone makes them a must-try. The day cream truly is a staple; my hands and face have been feeling a bit dry lately and in need of a little love. Cream is the way to go!
Thanks for sharing!
I love the sense of accomplishment I have when I use up lots of products!!! Throughout lockdown I’ve really missed purchasing Avon products, I used to really enjoy browsing through the catalogue. Thank you for the Clinique moisturiser recommendation – I use their foundation and will give their moisturiser a try now.

Love this! I try new products all the time but rarely get to the end of them! Xxx
I love reading empties post as it always gives me the boost to use up all those old products I’ve started! Great post xx
I love posts like these as they help me when buying new beauty products. I would love to try some of the Clinique skincare products, but my bank balance won’t allow it!
I’m trying to do the same in regards to using things up. Most of mine seem to be samples so it can be really satisfying that I’m getting through a few. I love the Aussie haircare range – that’s what I’m using at the moment and it really suits my hair. Great post!
Oh, I love the Mythos products you can get in Greece! I always get something from them when I am on holiday there. There is a few of these products that I haven’t tried, so will have to check them out!
Thanks for sharing 🙂
