Introducing Flame Game Candle Company

Welcome back to my small business week series where today I’ll be introducing you to Flame Game Candle Company. If you missed yesterdays post, you can read it here. Each day this week, I’ll be sharing a different small business with you. I can assure you won’t want to miss them.

I asked owner Ellie a few questions to get to know her business better so lets jump straight in with them.

What made you want to start your own business?

I decided to start a business because it was coming to the end of the 2021 lockdown and I was absolutely dreading having to go back to the normal working day. I had gotten so used to being at home and my own schedule, and I thought why not start up my own business so that, along with my blog, I can work for myself and do things my own way.

What kind of thing do you sell?

I make and sell predominantly candles, but have ventured into wax melts as well which have been a huge success. All my candles and melts are hand poured and made by myself in my little kitchen. Also they’re vegan friendly and I try and use eco-friendly packaging where possible.

What is your favourite product from your range?

My favourite product from my range is the toasted marshmallow candle – and the piggy wax melts in the same scent! This was the first scent I decided on as it’s my absolute favourite type of scent. I love all the scents in the collection, but this one is definitely my favourite.

Where would you like your business to be in 5 years time?

The absolute DREAM in 5 years time would be to be able to have my own little shop somewhere. I know this is an extreme long shot but you never know! I’d also have my own website, hopefully in the next year, rather than be an Etsy seller.

Is there anything you’ve found more challenging that you thought it would be?

Definitely driving in customers. I know my shop is only a couple months old at this point, so I’m not expecting huge amounts of traffic, but I never knew how difficult it would be to advertise and promote my shop, especially having to do it around a full time job.

If you could give somebody thinking about starting a business one piece of advice, what would it be?

I would have to say just go for it! It is very daunting at first but it’s very much worth it. Also make sure you plan absolutely everything. Cheap supplies are not always better – as I’ve found with testing wax – although sometimes it can be so it’s worth trying sometimes.

Flame Game Candle Company Products

I’ve been a fan of Flame Game Candle Company’s products right from the start. I can safely say I’ve tried out quite a few of the scents. They have mainly been wax melts because that’s what I prefer using. Here are some of my favourites:

  1. Handmade 30cl scented candle, Cotton Dreams, vegan friendly
  2. Harbour Mist scented seashell wax melts – vegan friendly
  3. Paw Print highly scented wax melts, 3 pack
  4. Pink Rose scented wax melts – vegan friendly
  5. Toasted Marshmallow scented piggy wax melts – vegan friendly

I hope you have enjoyed my introducing Flame Game Candle Company post. Make sure you check out more of Flame Game Candle Company’s range on their Etsy shop. I’d love to know what your favourite item is.

  2. I love what Ellie did with her brand and, while I am yet to order from her, I love everything she has made! I’m happy to see she wants to do so much in the coming years, she definitely has my support. Now off to buy something from her Etsy shop x

  3. I love candles & Ellie’s candles & wax melts sound amazing! If she offers international shipping in the future, I would love to purchase the toasted marshmallow candle or wax melts from her!
