Can you believe Christmas is nearly here? Its scary how quickly this month is going! As a child, I used to love looking through the radio times and picking out things I wanted to watch over Christmas and New Year. Back in the day, it was always a juggling act trying to work out what we needed to watch and what we needed to record on VHS. Yes, I know I’m showing my age!

It got me thinking about what I wanted to watch this year. There are so many tv shows that do Christmas specials as well as stand along shows and Christmas films. All I can say is how lucky we are to have catch up tv. I thought I’d put together a post, sharing what I’m going to watch over the festive season. Not only might it inspire you to watch some of these things, it will also hopefully remind me to record them too!

Like I mentioned above, there are so many things I want to watch this year. I’ve therefore split it down by day so that I can easily check back. What are you looking forward to watching this month?
Great list! I’ll probably be watching the same things. The Call The Midwife Christmas Special is always my favourite!
This is a great list! I’ll be watching similar, and I think we’ll have a load of generic Christmas films on in the background during Christmas and Boxing Day!
Em x
I’ll be totally honest, I don’t really watch much TV. Unless it’s Formula 1 or Strictly Come Dancing! I tend to just stick to Netflix or Amazon Prime. But I always watch the Queen’s speech, I mean, it’s like tradition isn’t it?
It really is a tradition. I always think back to watching it in previous years when grandparents were still around and reminisce a bit.
What a great list! I love watching all the Christmas movies on TV this time of the year!
Thank you for this list! We normally get a TV guide but haven’t got one yet so this has helped me add to my own list of things I want to watch
It’s become a bit of a tradition to watch the old Star Wars movies every Christmas.
All the best, Michelle (michellesclutterbox.com)
Oh how I miss British TV! I could watch it all day long. We often visit my in-laws in UK but this year it’s sadly off the table. Enjoy the holidays xx
There is so much good tv to watch over christmas!
Ohh I didn’t know about the Ghost Special
Sorry, went to quick on the keyboard ahaha thank you for the list! X
Haha, you’re welcome
I miss watching British tv at Christmas so much! I usually try to catch things online if I can and usually watch the Queen’s speech that way. I love The Vicar of Dibley too!
While I don’t have access to many on your list, I do love Call the Midwife and look forward to their Christmas special! Also, I think I’m in your age group 😉
RadioTimes is such a highlight alone – I’m most looking forward to Strictly <3 and ofc the bake off! x
I love this post, Christmas TV is a great part of Christmas and I love that you’ve written everything you’re planning on watching x
You’re all set for Christmas Kelly, I’m like you, I’ll be watching the majority of the shows on BBC1 on Christmas Day x

Call The Midwife is like the highlight of Christmas TV in my house, although we always end up in tears! I didn’t realise there was a Ghosts Christmas Special though so I’m definitely going to set it to record.

Call the midwife always makes me cry too.
I haven’t really been watching TV shows this season – mostly movies. But I hadn’t thought to look for Christmas specials. Maybe I can find some on Hulu.
Can’t wait for Call the Midwife! I love Christmas TV xx

I really need to get a TV guide because I love picking out TV i am going to watch! Some great choices here x
I love Christmas tv! Especially the Strictly special, literally watch it every year. Thanks for sharing because I didn’t even know that half of these were on haha 🙂
Thanks for this list! Will make good use of this this year as I’m grounded taking care of family with health challenges. :/
I just love watching all the Christmas programs every year!
Actually I’m not following what’s been on tv, very little watching it but once I liked to follow the tv schedule..
I haven’t looked into what we’re watching this year, but I’ll have to save this to refer back to. We stream in all of our television channels, which means that we have the opportunity to easily stream in channels from anywhere in the world. It’s a nice perk when we want to watch something here in Canada that’s airing in the UK lol
same here! BBC 1 is on playing in my house all day xx
Thanks for sharing what your watching over the holiday time, I have mine all circled for what I’m watching including Doctor Who on New Years Day
