Festive Make Up

AD – This post contains PR products.

It feels like so long since I have done a full make up post. There is something about this time of year that makes me want to play around with make up more. I recently featured the new Jolie Beauty Highlighters in a review and thought I would share the rest of the products I used to get this festive looking make up.

The Base

For me, before I even start to apply make up, I like to apply a face primer. This just sets my skin up for easy application of any products I want to use. For this look, I had a good look through my make up collection and found a sample of Benefit The Pore Fessional. This is a pearl primer which gives a soft radiance to your skin as well as minimises the look of pores.

When it comes to foundation, I’m very fussy and tend to stick to the same few favourites. The look I wanted to go for was a glowy, natural look and so I chose the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I currently wear the shade 100 Ivory because I am so pale. I’m also very conscious about how make up sits around my eye area and so I added a small amount of the Absolute Eyeshadow Primer to my eyelids. Early starts have been a killer for my eyes recently and so no base make up would be complete without a concealer. For this look I chose to use my favourite Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer from Collection. This does exactly what is says and really makes the dark bags under my eyes look so much less.

The Cheeks

One of the main purposes of this make up look was to try out the Jolie Beauty Highlighters which you can read more about in this post. As well as this, I also found in my collection the Laqa & Co B’Lighter Peacher’s Daughter Blush Highlight. I received this in a Birchbox ages ago and had never used it before. The consistency is creamy making it easy to apply as well as giving me that glowy look I wanted.

The Eyes

I wanted my eyes to look a bit shimmery but still bold at the same time. I firstly applied my favourite eyeliner, Clinique Quickliner For Eyes in my water line to create a really thin line. For my lids, I used my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, using the shade Burnout. Its a pretty pink colour that has a slight shimmer to it.

I had a really good rummage in my collection for a mascara and chose the Diego Dalla Palma Lash Booster Mascara Ciglione. This is amazing and really gives such a bold look to your eyes. It makes it look like you have false eyelashes on without all the fuss.

The Final Touches

As its Christmas, I couldn’t do this make up look without a red lip. For this, I chose the Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in the shade Tropical Sunset. It really pulls the look together and gives it that festive vibe. What do you think of the finished look?
