*AD – My Chronicle Book Box has been kindly gifted to me in exchange for a review. You can read my full disclaimer here.
You might already be able to tell if you have been around a while, but I am a massive book lover. I have had enjoyment from reading since I was a teenager. Occasionally I will share book reviews on this blog to hopefully inspire others to read too.

When the lovely Louise over at My Chronicle Book Box got in touch and asked if I would like to review one of their boxes, I jumped at the chance. This is just the type of thing I’ve been looking for. Keep reading to find out more…
What Is My Chronicle Book Box?
My Chronicle Book Box is a subscription box perfect for book lovers. For just £26 a month, you can enjoy a signed first edition copy of a new release book. In addition to this, you also get 1-3 bookish goodies and author exclusive content too.
What Options Are there?
The one book option gives you the opportunity to receive a new release every month. However, My Chronicle Book Box also had a quarterly three book option. For this you can choose from either Crime and Mystery Fiction or Science Fiction and Fantasy. The quarterly option is priced at £48 which is an absolute bargain.
What I love about this subscription is that it’s really easy to modify or cancel your box at anytime, so you aren’t stuck in a contract. Check out the My Chronicle Book Box website for full terms and conditions.
What About Postage?
Any orders delivered to UK Mainland or Northern Ireland is free delivery. If you are based elsewhere in the world, a location-based delivery charge is added. You can calculate your shipping costs on their website before you complete your order, so that there is no hidden surprises.

My Thoughts
From the moment, Louise got in contact, I looked forward to receiving my box. I have had quite a few subscription boxes over the years, but never one that contained books, so I couldn’t wait.
Upon receiving my box, I was blown away by just how much time and thought had gone into creating this box. Starting with the outside, I love the patterned box. So many boxes these days are just plain, but this is a lovely design.
Inside the box was no different. Everything was kept tidy and secure because it was wrapped in tissue paper. First impressions and not only did I love it, I knew it would also make a wonderful gift for someone, but I’ll get onto that later. I almost didn’t want to tear off the tissue paper, but I knew I needed to. There was a letter from Louise, introducing the box and giving me a sneak peak into the next one.
I also found a letter from the Paula Hawkins, the author of the book I was about to open. This was a really lovely touch and gave me a insight into things I wouldn’t get when purchasing the book elsewhere. Once I had removed these two items, I saw another beautifully packed parcel. Not only was it wrapped in paper and done up with ribbon, it also had slipped inside a pretty wooden bookmark and a “do not disturb” door hanger.
To open this subscription box felt more of an event, rather than just opening a box. It gave me that excitement you normally only get at Christmas and birthdays. It would definitely be something to look forward to each month.

The Perfect Gift?
As I mentioned above, I honestly believe this would make such a lovely gift for someone special. With Christmas not too far away, I wanted to share what options you had. There is the option of buying a single box for your loved one to enjoy. This would give them the opportunity to discover My Chronicle Book Box for themselves. They could then decide if they would like to take out a further subscription.
Alternatively, if you were feeling generous, there is also the option to be able to prepay up to 12 boxes. There are discounts depending on how many boxes you purchase, so make sure you check out their website for the full price information.
I’m now off to enjoy reading my copy of A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins. I hope you’ve enjoyed discovering more about My Chronicle Book Box. I’m going to be featuring lots more Christmas gift inspiration content over on my Instagram in the next few weeks, so make sure you are also following me over there.
